Frequently Asked Questions

What is our geographical boundary?

We serve mainly Windsor-Essex and Chatham-Kent, but are open to discuss other areas, as requested.

What services do we provide?

Our main focus is on first aid for special events, festivals, banquets and sports.

What physical facilities do we provide at an event?

For outdoor events, we provide care from a 10 x 20 foot tent. We have 2 identical set-ups available, so we are able to provide care at 2 events simultaneously, or from 2 locations at a very large outdoor event. If the customer has facilities on site, we may utilize theirs instead. For indoor events, we ask that an area be provided to us to set our equipment up, be it an onsite first aid room, or an area that is easily identifiable. We have various types of signage available to assist in that endeavor.

How do you deal with COVID 19?

We have a robust BSI (bodily substance isolation) program, as well as advanced disinfection equipment and procedures. Our members engage in an extensive self-screening process prior to attending an event. We vigorously screen our patients and allow only 1 chaperone (also screened) to attend the designated first ad area.

What level of care do you provide?

All of our members initially are trained to standard first aid levels.. Their training supplemented to where the majority have attained Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) training. We also have Paramedic-trained and Registered Nurse-trained personnel. Supplemental oxygen administration and defibrillation equipment will be on site with our members.

How much does it cost to have the team attend an event?

Good question. Our base fee is $100 for a minimum of 1 hour attendance. Our base hourly fee for events lasting 2 or more hours is $60 per hour, based on 1 first aid station staffed by a minimum of 2 members. Specific pricing is available once full details of the size, scope and risk level have been looked at (taxes are extra).

How do I know what level of care is needed for my event?

Our management/supervisory team has many decades of training in pre-hospital care and risk management. We can help you set up your medical and emergency plans to industry best-practices.

Are you hiring?

We are always open to receiving applications for joining the team. Membership is volunteer-based, however a stipend is provided to cover incidentals such as travel, food, etc.

What type of events have you provided care at?

We regularly provide care at OHL games (spectator-focused), professional basketball, concerts, circuses, summer fairs and festivals, corporate picnics and field days, as well as the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships and the 2017 Memorial Cup.
